Blizzard Entertainment is proud to announce our official BlizzCon Fan Art Contest! We're looking for some talented artists to draw their favorite character or monster from the Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo universes in a recognizable in-game location. We'll be posting the winning submissions on our site, and we'll also be prominently displaying them next to original artwork from our titles in the art gallery at BlizzCon 2007!

The first European Championship of the World of Warcraft Arena, and the European Regional finals of the fifth Warcraft III Battle.net Season concluded in Hamburg today. After many exciting matches these players and teams managed to defeat all opposition to win their trip to the Global Finals at BlizzCon:

We have added a new unit, the protoss colossus, to the protoss section.
The towering colossus is a protoss robot design dating back to the bloody conflicts of the Kalath Intercession. It strides across the battlefield on four tall, slender legs which give it an extremely high level of mobility.

We're pleased to announce that World of Warcraft will be one of the featured games in this year’s Championship Gaming Series (CGS) World Championship. World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade players on the European and North American realms have the opportunity to secure a spot in the upcoming CGS draft, to be held at BlizzCon. Players who are drafted onto CGS teams will earn $30,000 - $100,000 or more annually in salaries and bonuses as professional gamers.

We have added a new building, the protoss stargate, to the protoss section.
The warships of the protoss fleet require a much stronger warp link in order to materialize than a standard gateway can provide. The immense stargate is capable of calling ships from high orbit or across immense distances to appear on a planet surface.

Video Games Live is a concert series featuring live performances of some of the most evocative pieces of music from Warcraft and other popular game series accompanied by video footage, live-action segments, and interactive elements. This week, Video Games Live is embarking on a five-city tour, performing in Dallas; Washington, DC; Detroit; Houston; and Louisville over the next month before coming to Anaheim for an exclusive performance at BlizzCon 2007. Attendees at each of the five Video Games Live tour stops will receive a free World of Warcraft trial DVD, and will enjoy a festival atmosphere surrounding the show, including game demos and competitions, costume contests, and the chance to meet top game industry composers and designers. We will be resetting the Diablo II ladder on June 25, 2007, beginning a new ladder season and providing a fresh start for those participating on the ladder realms. All current ladder characters will be moved to the non-ladder realm, and the ladder realm will re-open as a blank slate where all-new heroes can make their mark. Try out a new character idea, adventure with your friends, and race to be the first on your realm to reach level 99. The realms will be offline for approximately four hours during the ladder reset. Once the specific schedule for the reset has been determined, we’ll post that information in the Battle.net Status Forum.

The European Regional Finals for World of Warcraft and Warcraft III are fast approaching! From June 22 to 24, the top European players and teams will be battling it out in Hamburg, Germany. Eight of the best European World of Warcraft Arena teams will fight for the title of European Champion and a ticket to the Global Finals at BlizzCon 2007 in August.

The Warcraft III Battle.net Season 5 tournament is coming to an end as well. Renowned players like ToD, the winner of this year's Worldwide Invitational, will compete in world-class matches with seven other amazing players for the Warcraft III European Championship and a chance to compete at the Global Finals at BlizzCon. We have added a new unit, the protoss phoenix, to the protoss section.
The phoenix is a swift and deadly spacecraft that is rapidly replacing the older scouts and corsairs in the role of fighter for the protoss. Phoenix patrols are a common sight on the outer rim of protoss territory, where they sweep deep space for alien threats.
